Millet Pasta (Jowar)

Ingredients:

  • 100g Millet pasta
  • 100g Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 tsp of tomato paste (optional)
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp. Olive oil
  • 5-6 leaves of basil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning powder
  • Blanched vegetables such as broccoli

Method:

  1. Boil millet pasta in salted water, according to instructions (it should take 4-5 mins)
  2. Once cooked al dente, drain the water, saving a small amount and toss with some oil.
  3. In a pan, heat some olive oil and add all the chopped garlic. At this stage, you can add mushrooms or chicken, if you are using the same.
  4. Once fragrant, add in tomato paste (if in hand) and cherry tomatoes. Slightly muddle the tomatoes and allow it to release its juices. Add salt. As it cooks, add in a little bit of the reserved water.
  5. Add in seasoning and tear the fresh basil before adding it to the pan
  6. Add In cooked pasta. You may crumble some paneer or add in some cooked shredded chicken for added protein.
  7. Serve hot.
